On Saturday, December 21st, Chinsegut Conservation Center is hosting a Wild Hog Processing class led by volunteer Mark Harrison. This is not a class that will go into detail on hunting basics. For that, we recommend a hunter’s safety class. In this class, we will briefly go over the rules and regulations of hog hunting in Florida, as well as give recommendations on technique and gear to use, then the emphasis will be on learning how to process wild hogs and how to prepare hog meat for consumption. The first part of the program will be indoors, and then Mark will demonstrate how to process a real deceased wild hog outdoors. Throughout the class there will be time for discussion, so feel free to ask lots of questions!Registration is limited, and sign-up is required at the link below:
