Between 1.30-3.30pm go on a walk with a difference and find out why Sir Peter Scott chose Slimbridge to be the birthplace of modern conservation. Learn about the UK’s last working duck decoy, see where Scott made his home on the edge of the Rushy and follow in his footsteps out towards the estuary in search of our seasonal wildlife.
At 3.30pm head back to the Kingfisher Kitchen to enjoy a delicious cream tea, with homemade scones topped with clotted cream, jam and a choice of tea or coffee. Alternatives available for those with dietary requirements.
"We went on the Wild History Walk followed by cream tea. The volunteer, Ian, who took us round was absolutely fantastic. Very knowledgeable and gave us a clear and comprehensive insight into the founder Peter Scott’s life and exceptional capabilities. We were taken to various parts of the reserve and the cream tea was delicious. This was time and money very well spent and we hope they will offer this opportunity again next year because we will certainly book it.
