Wild Child

End of the World, the new album from Austin songwriting duo Wild Child (Kelsey Wilson and Alexander Beggins), almost didn't happen. In 2018, Wilson joined the supergroup Glorietta and debuted her solo project Sir Woman, while Beggins released his first solo album as CoCo Zandi. By 2019, after a decade of touring, Wild Child stopped playing shows altogether.

Exploring different directions, Wilson and Beggins didn't plan to make another Wild Child record. However, the pandemic lockdowns in Austin brought them back together. With stages closed and bank accounts drained, they started practicing for online performances. Within 30 minutes, they wrote the first single for their fifth album.

The band recorded at The Echo Lab studios outside Denton, Texas, capturing an unwashed rendition of "End of the World." Wilson says, "There were no boundaries. We were making this music because we needed to."

Abney became the first songwriter to collaborate with Beggins and Wilson on a Wild Child album, contributing significantly to the songwriting process.

The Wild Child family also launched Reba’s Ranch Records to highlight Austin's music scene. The label will host Wild Child's catalog and solo projects, in partnership with Secretly Distribution. End of the World was mixed by Matt Pence and features guitarist Charlie Wiles.

SUSTO

A season of drastic change led SUSTO frontman Justin Osborne to the band’s fifth album, My Entire Life [New West Records]. A divorce, rebuilding his band post-pandemic, and witnessing family struggles with addiction and mental illness marked this period. Despite these challenges, Justin found new love and deeper perspective, masterfully projected into the album.

The album blends rock, folk, and psychedelia with vivid storytelling. The lead single, “My Entire Life,” is melodically tearful with an urgency “to keep living.” The album documents Justin’s personal journey through highs and lows, celebrating love and starting over. There’s a clear desire to distill wisdom from experience.

SUSTO has achieved widespread critical acclaim and built a diehard fan base through captivating live performances. My Entire Life reflects the ultimate vision of the band, a classic story of rising from the ashes, wiser and fiery than ever.
