Our very first migrating songbIrds usually begin arriving at the end of March. Join us for a Saturday morning bird walk at Afton State Park, where we'll look for these early arrivals such as eastern phoebes, veery, yellow-bellied sapsucker, great blue heron, and possibly kinglets. Meet at the main trailhead at the north end of the large parking area at the end of the park drive. We'll explore a variety of habitats including the edge of the St. Croix River in our search for early birds. Note that portions of the trail are steep and some areas may be wet. Dress for the weather and please bring your own water and snacks if you need them. Event is free but park entry fee required.
