About this Event

Welcome to our Wild Baskets event! Join us on Sat Nov 15 2025 at 9.30am until 12.00pm at Woodland Wellbeing HQ for a morning of fun and creativity. Get ready to create beautiful baskets using natural materials found in our landscape. This hands-on workshop will teach you the basics of basket weaving from sourcing and preparing bramble to weaving it into a basket (plus a few extra natural materials). No experience is necessary, just bring your enthusiasm. Enjoy this unique opportunity to learn a new skill and make something beautiful to take home.

You will find yourself in a beautiful woodland garden in Norton Lees,15 minutes from Sheffield city centre, next to the babbling Meersbrook where you can easily be immersed into the sounds and feel of a semi-ancient woodland.

There will also be an opportunity to forage and delve a bit deeper into plant lore and gather to enjoy a warm drink heated on the fire and some delicious cake with seasonal ingredients.

All you need to bring is yourself and dress for the weather.

In the event of heavy rain or strong winds, the event may be rescheduled and / or refunds offered. In the event of lighter rain, the area will be covered with shelters.

Welfare facilities are available in the house.

Accessibility - the woodland garden is set in a small valley down steep steps so no wheelchair access is available unfortunately. We would like to run similar sessions in other areas of Sheffield so if you would like to join but need good access, please do let us know so we can contact you for future sessions.

There is plenty of roadside parking and the space is a 5 minute walk from the number 20 and 18 bus stops. There is also a place to secure bikes.
