About this Event
When was the last time you allowed yourself to simply move and play... just for the fun and enjoyment of it? Research shows that play can help you relieve stress, boost creativity, improve relationships and connection with others, and increase your energy.
But oftentimes we are criticized for having leisure time, taking breaks, or are called "childish" when we play. This is exactly why we decided to create Wild & Free: Playful Movement in Nature (Drum Circle, Dance, Qigong).
Wild & Free is your opportunity to explore play through movement in a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space. This is where you will be allowed to freely express, move, reconnect with your body, and be yourself.
Join us at TeWinkle Park for a day of connecting with nature while exploring various movement-based play modalities, including a drum circle, dance, and Qigong (an ancient form of Chinese moving meditation that is similar to Tai Chi).
Let's embrace the outdoors and allow our Inner Child to be wild and free. Feel the rhythm of the drum circle, move your body with dance, and find inner peace with Qigong.
This event is all about letting go, having fun, and immersing yourself in the beauty of nature. Come as you are, ready to play and explore! (No experience of dance, drum circles, or Qigong is required.)

Who are your facilitators?
Lindsey Krogh, LCSW, RPT-S, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Play Therapist who loves helping parents build strong, joyful connections with their children and teen through the magic of play. She specializes in working with children and teens including those with neurodiverse needs, using evidence-based and play therapy tools. Lindsey is a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor™ who believes that play is a child’s natural language—it’s how they express themselves and heal.
Charmaine Horn, BSN, RN, EFTMP-C, is a Registered Nurse and Certified 200-Hour Qigong (pronounced "Chee-Gong") Instructor. While working as an inpatient psychiatric nurse, a patient asked Charmaine to play a Tai Chi video for him to help with his anxiety. Charmaine joined in and realized how calming the movements were. This led her on a journey to leave her nursing job in 2020 to learn more about holistic methods to help people heal from mental health issues. Then in 2022, after going through her own emotional hardships, she discovered Qigong. Charmaine is now on a mission to help people overcome stress, anxiety, and depression with Qigong so they could live a more joyous and fulfilling life.
