The Prince of the Underground
If anything, WIFIGAWD is prolific. The Washington D.C. rapper cut his teeth on Soundcloud cranking out underground rap records with the likes of Black Kray and Warhol.ss. WIFIGAWD’s early efforts revealed a trench-beat technician (“I’m Upset” could learn a few things from “Check”), with revved up flows over production from frequent collaborators Oogiemane and Forza of Working On Dying. His latest projects, Heat Check Vols 1 & 2 with New York-based producer Tony Seltzer, we find WIFIGAWD at ease — his raps are calmer, more melodic and unrestrained. The threat still remains, however, WIFIGAWD will rap circles around a beat without remorse.
