2021 Widow Empowerment Event

Our 2021 Widow Empowerment Event (WEE) is a one-of-a-kind, life-changing event for widows and fatherless daughters.

#WEE2021 inspires both to lean into life by finding HOPE from an understanding community and our powerful speakers, gain opportunities to HEAL through education, resources and activities that also give them the chance to GROW, and learn more about how to LEAD in the future of widowhood.

Loss and grief have a way of creating anxious emotions, insecurity, anger, uncertainty and an unworthy feeling, but the truth is loss is an opportunity for widows to face fears head-on, offering an unequivocally empowering experience in finding strength, resilience, wisdom and confidence.

Our event is both audacious and necessary, a bridge from feeling as if you are simply surviving to a place of understanding and learning from other widows who have come through their loss and have found a pathway forward to thrive.

Our Fatherless Daughter Track is new for 2021. We know this will be nothing short of amazing and inspiring for our daughters. Daughters must be 18 or older to attend and should purchase the appropriate ticket.

Our Widow Empowerment Event is where widows go to start rebuilding their life after loss, and where fatherless daughters find the support and community that is inspiring a new generation of empowered women.

Twenty-two dynamic speakers will be joining us on Friday and Saturday. Our Resource Hall will be open both days for connecting with our carefully-selected exhibitors who will provide resources and services designed just for you.

Friday, September 17, 2021

Our event kicks off at 8:00am Friday, September 17 with registration and attendee access to our Resource Hall, followed by a full day of powerful speakers and activities.

Saturday, September 18, 2021

Our event continues at 9:00am on Saturday, September 18 for another day of life-changing sessions and experiences, culminating on Saturday evening at our country-themed Denim and Diamonds dance party.

Sunday, September 19, 2021

On Sunday, VIP ticket holders will join MWC Founder Carolyn Moor for brunch. (VIP ticket must be purchased to be included in this event.)

We have secured a group rate of $109 at the JW Marriott for during our conference. Accommodations must be booked separately through the JW Marriott Hotel HERE.

Cancellations with full refunds will be granted up to 30 days prior to the event start date. Cancellations after August 18, 2021 will be non-refundable.

We also know that COVID-19 continues to be a concern for us all. Modern Widows Club has the following COVID-19 plan in place for WEE 2021. We kindly ask all who will be joining us this September in Houston to take the following steps to enhance the safety for fellow Wisters, Sponsors, Speakers, Volunteers and Staff.

Attendance at WEE 2021 will REQUIRE proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 3 calendar days prior to your attendance at WEE 2021. Which means you must be tested on or after Tuesday, September 14, 2021. Please email your negative test results to [email protected]. If you are awaiting test results you may check into the hotel though you may not attend any MWC events until a negative test result is provided.

Modern Widows Club also kindly requests that everyone wear a mask while attending WEE 2021. The only exception of course will be our speakers on stage as they present. I am already searching for a sparkly mask for the dance party!
