About this Event
Construction is underway of two new leading-edge chip factories in Ohio to boost production to meet demand for advanced semiconductors, power a new generation of innovative products, and serve the needs of foundry customers. Spanning nearly 1,000 acres in New Albany, Licking County, just outside of Columbus, the “mega-site” can accommodate a total of eight chip factories as well as supporting operations and ecosystem partners.
As the largest single private-sector investment in Ohio history, the initial phase of the project is expected to create 3,000 jobs, 7,000 construction jobs over the course of the build, and support tens of thousands of additional local long-term jobs across a broad ecosystem of suppliers and partners.
PPE is required:
- Steel/Composite Toe Boots,
- Gloves
- Hard Hat
- High Vis Vest
- Long Sleeves
- Long Pants
- Protective Glasses
We will meet at their warehouse location at 8:30am where badges and parking passes are distributed. The Bechtel team will give us a tour of their warehouse, then we will drive to the main project site and park in the blue parking lot. Please plan on being there on time to receive a badge and a parking pass.
The project team has strict confidentiality requirements so photos are prohibited while on site, however we will ensure to capture a group photo for you and will share once approved for release by their owner.
When referring to the project, the customer can not be referenced by name. Acceptable descriptions include “large semiconductor facility” or Ohio Fab Project.
