Join us for the March WIBU luncheon at the Westminster Village Retirement Community campus, 5801 W. Bethel Ave. in Muncie, in the Legacy Commons Event Hall.Topic: Community Engagement with Ball State
Kelli has worked for over 18 years in community engagement within higher education. She was born and raised in East Central Indiana and spent a decade working at Ball State University before taking the role of Director of the Center for Civic Engagement at Binghamton University in Upstate New York in 2018. She returned to home to Indiana and began her current position as the Associate Vice President for Community Engagement at Ball State in 2023. The mission of the Office of Community Engagement is to build bridges between Ball State and communities beyond campus, with a priority on Muncie, Delaware County, and East Central Indiana. Staff in this office work hard to develop relationships with external partners, to understand community priorities, and to encourage faculty, staff, and students across campus to get involved in community engaged teaching, research, and service.
Kelli will share resources and opportunities for WIBU members to engage with Ball State and she will discuss Ball State’s overarching strategic goals for community engagement and highlight some of the initiatives led by staff. This includes staff in the Office of Community Engagement, the E.B. and Bertha C. Ball Center, and the East Central Indiana Small Business Development Center.
Join us for a wonderful afternoon of networking, an engaging presentation, and a delicious lunch.
