WHYJOHNNY is a singer-songwriter and a native New Yorker. Born in 2001, his influences are rooted in the nineties, as viewed through a 21st-century, post-genre, sonic lens. His muses are as varied as they are nuanced. The writing is marked by a sense of craft, as well as a dramatic tension; between the music and the words, but also the artist’s internal conflicts, the spark which fuels the music. He released an EP in June of 2020 entitled “BECAUSE” which packed a punch with powerful vocals and chilling lyrics. He is currently working on an upcoming concept EP which consists of three songs. Each song tells a unique narrative with themes such as suffering, regret, and darkness. He is working with Frog’s producer, Daniel Bateman for this project.
