Put your taste buds to the test as we explore four exceptional Rye Whiskeys featuring a variety of proofs, ages, mash bills and price points in this interactive blind tasting event with Phil Talks Whiskey!
Why Rye? To spice things up of course. We're subbing out Kentucky Bourbon with the firm spicy handshake of Rye Whiskey. Explore the KICK with the bold notes of black pepper, citrus and a bit of bite that varies widely from sip to sip.
Plus, we'll pair each sip with delicious custom confections from Louisville's Froggy's Popcorn. This is open to both the seasoned sipper and those completely new to the world of whiskey. And perfect for a unique date night or a fun challenge with friends.
The blind tasting is also your chance to see what you like when the bottle is out of sight and the only information you have to rely on comes from your mouth, nose, eyes and a few subtle hints from Phil! But, keep your rye on the prize...we'll be awarding prizes for the most accurate picks and even some of the more....off-the-wall guesses. And if you don't succeed on your first guess....you can always rye, rye again!
Between sips we trace the roots of America's earliest whiskey from its birth in the rocky soils of Maryland and Pennsylvania in the 18th century and its place in history as the spirit of the Revolution through pre-prohibition boom days to the modern craft revival.
