District 3 is excited to host BCF for an exclusive workshop on the importance of a having a complete intellectual property (IP) strategy for you AI solutions. The workshop will be delivered by the stellar BCF team, featuring Tuba Yamaç, Misha Benjamin, Julien Lacheré, and Paul Gagnon who will cover the following topics:

  • Elements of an IP Strategy for AI: an IP strategy for AI can encompass patent protection, trade secrets, copyrights, trademarks, and licensing to comprehensively safeguard and monetize AI innovations.
  • Role of Patents in AI: Patents in AI provide legal protection for innovations, enhance a company's market position, and can be used strategically for investment and collaboration.
  • Data Strategy and Governance: Effective data strategy and governance ensure data ownership, quality, security, and compliance, which are essential for reliable and ethical AI development.
  • IP as Leverage for Funding and Commercial Expansion: A strong IP portfolio can attract investment, support market expansion, and generate revenue through licensing, bolstering a company's growth potential.


About the Speakers
Tuba Yamaç, partner and patent agent at BCF, is distinguished by the intellectual property strategies she develops and leads for clients in the technology sector, ranging from startups to large corporations, including research institutes. Holding a PhD in biomedical materials, Tuba is recognized for her technical and industrial expertise in medical technologies, including medical devices and digital health.

Misha Benjamin, partner and co-leader of the technology and artificial intelligence (AI) group at BCF, has extensive experience that allows him to support all types of clients, from startups to large-scale enterprises, in resolving their liability, intellectual property, regulatory, and data usage issues. Misha has been supporting cutting-edge AI products since 2017 and has assisted in successful AI deployments across various sectors worldwide.

Julien Lacheré, partner, patent agent, and head of the intellectual property (IP) group at BCF, stands out with over 20 years of patent experience, acquired in both corporate and private practice.
