Join Professor Christopher L. Magee (MIT) for a fireside dialogue on how technologies actually advance—and what that means for innovators today. Prof. Magee will share insights from his research on the pace of technological progress and discuss how manufacturing capability, standout companies and individuals, products, and scientific breakthroughs drive change. Moderated by Professor Jianxi Luo (City University of Hong Kong), with ample time for audience Q&A.


About the Speaker


Christopher L. Magee is a member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering, a Ford Technical Fellow, and an ASM Fellow. After a 35-year R&D and engineering leadership career at Ford Motor Company, he joined MIT in 2002 as Professor of the Practice (now Emeritus) in Mechanical Engineering and IDSS, co-directed the SUTD/MIT International Design Center, and co-founded TechNext.ai, an AI company delivering quantitative technology forecasts.
