Join us for a timely and engaging public lecture on Australia’s energy future.
Emeritus Professor Max Standage, a distinguished physicist and community leader, will explain why nuclear power is not the answer for Australia’s energy requirements. Drawing on his academic expertise and decades of leadership, Professor Standage will discuss the economic, environmental, and social realities of nuclear power, and highlight more viable and sustainable pathways for Australia’s clean energy transition.

Professor Standage is the former Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Griffith University, where he was responsible for major campuses and academic groups. He has also chaired Regional Development Australia in both Logan & Redlands and the Sunshine Coast, and he remains a member of Queensland Quantum and Advanced Technologies Research Institute (QUATRI) and is active as President of the Mapleton and District Community Association.
