Tonight's guest speaker, Jeanette Ohlsson Carlborg, will talk about how cultural awareness can give us an understanding of the similarities and differences we encounter in others we come into contact with and why it matters. Similarities and differences, (values, beliefs, behaviour, time references or body language) may be large or small, but they have a major impact on building international relationships. What works very well in one country may not work at all in another. To understand the people around us, we need other frames of reference to be able to interpret well and communicate effectively, something that is of huge value to an international club like Malmö International Rotary Club.Jeanette Ohlsson Carlborg has lived abroad on various continents for 20 plus years and is a student/historian of religion and the founder of Kulturlänk AB. She has specialised in cross-cultural communication and given lectures and courses for the past 25 years. Her vision is to connect people across cultures, borders and religions to achieve stronger positive outcomes.
This will be a hybrid meeting held at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Malmö, and virtually on Zoom.
