Come and join in an open session with Anna Harrington on mental health at work. The session is open - meaning the session will be organically created by your questions.
You may have questions such as - What is mental health? What is mental ill health? What is wellbeing? How do these associate together? OH talk about a biopsychosocial approach what is this? What at the work influencers on mental health? What are the signs that an employee may be experiencing mental health challenges, mental ill health & physical health? How do these associate?
The objective of this session is for you to enhance your understanding of the role of occupational health in assisting organisations and HR professionals in decision making in relation to the management of an employee with mental health problems.
This session will also include the Branch AGM providing a review of branch activities and future plans.
Guest speaker's profile: Anna
Anna has 24 years in occupational health. She is a Registered Public Health Nurse Specialist in occupational health. In addition to usual clinical health professional training she had done additional training in positive psychology, cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance commitment therapy, mindfulness meditation , prosocial, and workplace mediation. Personally, she had a challenging childhood demanding in adult life to address the difficult consequences of this. Anna sits on the Society of Occupational Medicine (SOM) taskforce group for D&I, is a SOM mentor.
