Join Trevor Creighton to discuss the history and archaeology the Anglo-Saxons. Looking at early historical sources about the Anglo-Saxon period, as well as the last days of Roman Britain to get a perspective on the world in which Anglo-Saxon England began. By looking at archaeology and other evidence, also questioning whether the history of the Anglo-Saxons is as straightforward as it seems. To bring the talk to an end, Trevor will look at the way later history has treated the Anglo Saxons, right up to the present day.Trevor Creighton is the Project Archaeologist at Buster Ancient Farm. His work involves the conception, construction and documentation and publication of experimental of structures based on archaeological evidence. He has been involved in the building of structures from the Neolithic, Bronze Age, Iron Age and Roman Britain.
Trevor holds Master’s Degrees in Archaeology and Heritage and Visual Arts and Design. He has presented talks to a wide variety of audiences, which include: The Prehistoric Society (London), The University of New England (Australia), EXARC (Experimental Archaeology in Europe). CDAS (Chichester District Archaeology Society). Friends of Fishbourne Roman Palace, as well as talks at Butser Ancient Farm. He has been published in British Archaeology and Current Archaeology magazines and the EXARC Journal of Experimental Archaeology.
