About this Event

On Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 2:00 p.m., the Institute of Musical Arts welcomes back the fourteenth installment of our WOMEN’S VOICES Storytelling Concert Series, with their performance, “Who Let the Dogs Out?”.

Taking your dog to the vet is never a pleasant experience. Today, four anxious pet owners find themselves in the waiting room of a local pet clinic on a Saturday afternoon. With leashes and carriers in hand, they have come to pick up their dogs. They have been greeted by the clinic attendant, but the veterinarian, Dr. Hardy, has not yet arrived. It turns out that he had a morning appointment at a animal hospital in Sherman Oaks, but upon leaving there, he got caught in backup traffic on the 405 Freeway. As they wait, the clinic attendant attempts to fill the time, and keep the clients calm by telling them about an unforgettable giant dog that found its way into her childhood. This encourages the clients to each share their own doggy stories, some hilarious, some tearful, but all loveable.Today’s show features storytellers Laura Duncan, Johna Madigan, Brenda Haynes, Kathy Falco and Barbara Clark.

You can buy tickets online: https://wholetthedogsout.eventbrite.com. As is our custom at the Institute of Musical Arts, a catered reception will follow the performance.

Ours is a small, intimate theater and seating is limited, so please reserve your tickets in advance, or call the theater in advance to confirm ticket availability. Tickets for the performance are $25. For additional information call: (323) 294-1235.
