Join us at Whistlewood to celebrate and appreciate this great planet we call our home. There is a double celebration for our Earth Day – so join us too for the official presentation of our Kings Award for Voluntary Service from Elizabeth Fothergill, the Lord-Lieutenant of Derbyshire!
Our Earth Day Celebration is aimed at families "Having a Go” at some of the typical activities that take place at Whistlewood – talks, walks and experiences; there will be something for everybody.
Linking in with International Earth Day (22nd April) which has a theme of Our Power, Our Planet we invite you to "Have A Go" and bring your own talents too. Do you have an unusual (or usual!) hobby/talent/superpower that you could share? Bring that along to our off-grid site and share it with others around our campfire. All welcome!
Entry to our Earth Day Celebration is free for all but we would love it if you would let us know you are coming by booking a ticket via our shop. At least we’ll know how much cake to make! Popping in on the day is also fine - everyone is welcome. Please bring your pennies with you as there maybe a small charge for some of the activities. Cards will be OK too but we prefer cash; as a not-for-profit organization cash goes so much further for us.
If you are considering volunteering at Whistlewood please do come along to find out more. There will be a special talk about volunteering at Whistlewood and lots of volunteers to chat to!
Curious about what goes on at Whistlewood? Come join us and find out.
