Daniel Lockhart, known professionally as Youngsta, is a pioneering British dubstep DJ and producer from London, UK, widely regarded as one of the foundational figures in the genre's development. Born into a raving family, he was introduced to the underground music scene at a young age, beginning his DJ career at 12 and making his first pirate radio mix at 13 on Freek FM.
In the last couple of years, as the deeper aspects of dubstep – those rooted strongly in sound system culture – have coalesced into their own distinct, autonomous scene, Youngsta has re-emerged as a figurehead for a new generation of producers. The likes of J:Kenzo, Proxima, Icicle, VIVEK and Nomine are all closely linked with Youngsta himself, forming a new vanguard in an increasingly unique, vibrant scene.
But this time, he’s breaking boundaries. For the Whistler Junglists, Youngsta will step outside his dubstep legacy to deliver an exclusive Drum & Bass set — a rare moment that fans will talk about for years.
