Whiskey Class - Malted Whiskies of the World

Please join me as we explore the world of malted whiskeys! Many of us associate the word malted with single malt whiskey. This term refers to whiskey made entirely from malted barley. Most notably than style is common in Ireland and Scotland. However the act of malting is not reserved for barley and any grain used in whiskey production can be put through this process. How does this affect the flavor and texture? What are the perceived benefit's and drawbacks? How about the historical significance? We will cover this and much more. I hope to see you in class!
