About this Event
(WWS) is a creative, multimedia storytelling project
This is a special event to join a select group of educators at Woodland Cultural Centre to experience, participate, and contribute to the launch of the WhereWeStand: Multimedia Learning Resource.
The resource provides digital resources, practical lesson plans, and pedagogical guidance on a variety of topics related to Indigenous peoples and Newcomer experiences captured in the 8 creative projects by 14 participants from across Turtle Island. Intended for use by teachers, educators, administrators, and community members, the WWS: MLR shows clear connections to the Ontario Curriculum and creates the foundation for work towards implementation of the 94 TRC Calls to Action, while empowering teachers to deliver Indigenous content in classrooms with authenticity and confidence.
This workshop will include a guided tour of the former Mohawk Institute Residential School, and lunch will be provided.
