On Feb 29th 1996 'Steve Young' packed his bags, left the Isle of Wight, and headed to London to follow his dream of being a 'Rock Star'......What followed (and continues to this day) is a roller coaster journey filled with the highs & lows only the music industry can come up with...
From hanging out with Britpop stars, signing a record deal with Warners, appearing on Top Of The Pops, opening for Roxette at Wembley, playing the Royal Albert Hall with Savage Garden frontman 'Darren Hayes' to signing on the dole, begging the local corner shop for some food, being diagnosed with Skin Cancer and then meeting The King
Somehow, after 30 years, Steve is still a full time musician, teaches guitar, drums, bass & songwriting in schools, colleges and now a London prison and also performs over 150 gigs a year with his various line ups
Hop on board the SYUK Roller Coaster for a night of celebration & fun with a fantastic line up of musicians who share in Steve's journey including;
Jonno's 3 Piece Blues Quartet featuring the extraordinary guitar skills of Cambridge musician Johnny 'Magic Boy' Wright who has been a big inspiration to Steve and they often sit in on each other's gigs
Savannah Gardner + The Recovering Good Girls - a shining light in the UK Country Music scene. Savannah, originally from California, sings her own wonderful mix of Outlaw, Honky-Tonk, Country Music and has been performing with Steve since 2023 at their hit selling London residency 'The Nashville Nights'
Steve's own band, The Real Time Players, will be performing with a few special guests old & new including Roy Bevan (Harp player for Eric Clapton) The Four Fractals who feat on the bands latest EP and some friends from the 90's and present day
A very special performance from some of Steve's former students dating back to 2008 who have put a band together especially for the night and will be dusting off their axes and rocking out
