Formed in 2022, Krakerjack draws on Polish folk and klezmer traditions, reimagining them through a fresh, contemporary lens. Their original compositions and inventive arrangements explore universal themes of resilience and belonging, moving effortlessly from haunting, intimate moments to up-tempo celebrations that invite audiences to move and connect.
Led by vocalist and clarinettist André Nowicki, the eight-piece ensemble brings together musicians from diverse backgrounds to create a rich, colourful sound shaped by both old-world influences and contemporary New Zealand perspectives. Their shows are immersive and participatory, offering not just a concert, but a shared experience full of warmth, depth, and infectious energy.
Since their debut, Krakerjack has captivated audiences at festivals and venues across New Zealand, building a reputation for performances that resonate across generations and musical tastes, while being a lot of fun.
