About this Event
On the ACA NSW's Wheels on the Bus Tour (Saturday, 9 November 2024), you will explore three (3) early childhood education and care (ECEC) services that are rated Exceeding (or are on track to be rated Exceeding).
This is your opportunity to ask questions of the approved provider and their staff and learn from:
- Alfred Academy Early Learning Centre
- Rise & Shine Kindergarten Kogarah
- Green Gables Kindergarten
You will draw educational inspiration and operational insights from these services!
You will also learn about:
- the realities and challenges of ECEC services (eg labour shortages, regulatory costs, assessment & ratings, childcare oversupply/undersupply, industrial relations, parental demands, educational trends)
- the architectural and design merits and their rationale (including the local councils' and NSW Department of Education’s DA and Service Approval Process respectively as well as the impact of the NSW State Environmental Planning Policy (Educational Establishments and Child Care Facilities) 2017)
- the external support available, including third-party suppliers
- the Federal and State Governments’ direction(s) for early childhood education and care (eg the Review of the NQF and various governments’ funding)
- The national and global trends of ECEC and how they could affect Australian services and educators
Emphasis will be on National Quality Framework, especially:
- Quality Area 1 - Education Program and Practice
- Quality Area 6 - Collaborative Partnerships with Families and Communities, and
- Quality Area 7 - Governance and Leadership.
