In this workshop our instructor mechanic will cover various elements of wheel servicing and maintenance.
Participants will have a hands-on opportunity to learn:
- Proper wheel cleaning techniques
- Importance of rim strips, and rim strip condition
- How to check braking surfaces for wear (rims/rotors)
- All about tires including common sizes, designs, tpi, the differences between tubeless/tubular, various valve types, and ETRTO and ISO standards.
- How to adjust hubs
- The various types of hub bearings
- Proper use and techniques for wheel specific tools (truing and dish tools, cone wrenches, etc)
- How to true wheels laterally and radially, and how to check spoke tension.
