WE'VE ADDED ONE MORE, 2025, 6-WEEK SESSION!
Join A Mindful Place in welcoming storyteller Sherry Moore as she guides us on a creative journey to craft your personal narrative.
During this 6-week class, Sherry will introduce you to the difference between a story and an essay; she'll provide a themed prompt to ignite your unique storytelling style then, offer simple guidelines to keep you focused on your personal narrative. Over 5 weeks you will be supported in your effort to edit and construct a cohesive 5-minute story. Week 6 you will share your completed work with the group for an afternoon author reading.
Curious about this opportunity but not sure you want to try? Consider this information about storytelling: Storytelling is a powerful tool for healing, connecting with others, and encouraging emotional processing. It can foster empathy, support resilience, and gain a deeper understanding of self, as well as others. Additionally, it may lead to a sense of purpose, validation, and closure to long held hurts.
FACILITATOR: Storyteller Sherry Moore began her storytelling journey in 2015, by accident. Asked by a friend to accompany her to a class at the Goodman Theatre, in Chicago, she has been storytelling ever since. She shares, "It was the best accident ever...I found my niche as a storyteller." (Knowing Sherry, I believe she was a storyteller long before she realized her gift.) Sherry views storytelling as a cathartic experience if approached honestly, with openness, and a willingness to acknowledge our vulnerabilities; all traits that lead to trust and inner peace.
