In celebration of Earth Day, learn about best practices for planting vegetables and flowers to set your garden up for success. Becky Griffith, owner of Shadowwood Gardens in Latrobe, will share expert advice about selecting species and the best times of years to plant them. This program will be held in the Museum classroom at West Overton Village. Accessing the classroom requires stairs and we are currently fundraising for an elevator. Restoring Native Plants and Historic Gardens at West Overton Village and Museum was financed in part by a grant from the Community Conservation Partnerships Program Environmental Stewardship Fund under the administration of the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Bureau of Recreation and Conservation administered through the Pennsylvania Environmental Council’s Laurel Highlands Mini Grant Program.
