The sky’s inky dark, the stars all aglow, the moonlight is crisp on the fresh fallen snow. There’s a nip in the air as the breeze starts to blow, carrying jingling bells and a faint “ho ho ho”.
It’s Christmas Eve and Santa has an important job to do – travel the globe to deliver presents before the night is through. Join the reindeers on the journey and discover the night sky through Santa’s eyes: from the shining moon to the changing constellations, see shooting stars and look for North; this gorgeous show brings together storytelling and astronomy to take the audience on an enchanting festive journey. Designed for young viewers, this show will captivate adults and children alike!
Polestar Planetarium presents this enthralling animated film to truly get your children (and you) in the festive mood. Beginning with a rocket launch to the moon and a tour of the night sky, Richard will guide you through the stars in the 360° dome before ending the show with this 13 minute engaging film leaving you all with that feel good festive tingle.
The shows are taking place over two weekends (13/14th & 20/21st Dec) with five sessions on each of the four days so just select your preferred date and time, follow the instructions for payments and you should receive a confirmation once it's all gone through.
Show start times (show lasts approx 45mins ):
Session 1 -1 0.30am
Session 2 -11.30am
Session 3 -1 2.30pm
Session 4 -1.30pm
Session 5 -2.30pm
We have a maximum of 50 places per show with floor seating and a limited number of seats (4) will be available for those who may have mobility difficulties, please message us to be allocated one.
The dome has a forced air system (air is pumped in and extracted) and is much better ventilated than most public buildings.
The shows are suitable for those aged 4 and above as during sessions the dome is dimly lit, sound carries easily and individuals needing to leave during the show tend to spoil the magic created for the rest of the audience. Minors (16 and under ) need to be accompanied.
We regret that it is not possible to admit late arrivals as this detracts from the audience's experience. However, if there is availability, it may be possible to join another session later that day.
