About this Event
Join us for our “What Matters to Me and Why” Alumni Series in collaboration with the UC Chicanx Latinx Alumni Association Summit!
We are honored to feature E. Martin Estrada, the United States Attorney for the Central District of California. Mr. Estrada received his B.A. magna cum laude from the University of California, Irvine in 1998 and his J.D., with distinction, from Stanford Law School in 2002.
In his position, Mr. Estrada oversees the investigation and litigation of all criminal and civil cases brought on behalf of the United States in the Central District of California, which is the largest U.S. Attorney's Office outside of D.C., serving seven counties and nearly 20 million people. He has been deeply committed to pro bono work over his career. Among other notable cases, he was the lead attorney for the Bruce family in the Bruce’s Beach litigation, which allowed the County of Los Angeles to return beach-side land to the descendants of a Black family who had the land taken away from them based on racial animus in the 1920s. We invite you to learn more about the amazing work and impact that our alumnus has made in the world.
A special thank you to all of our co-sponsors including:
- The Student Alumni Association, a registered campus organization that enhances the student experience at UCI by connecting students to one another, alumni and the university.
- The UC Chicanx Latinx Alumni Association, a statewide collective of Latinx alumni from all ten UC campuses whose mission is to support the overall advancement of the UC to better serve the needs of the on-campus and off-campus Chicanx Latinx community including alumni, staff, faculty, and students.
We encourage you to join us January 24. Please complete the event registration form to register and secure your spot.
