And finally here's the last and most special one of our Summer tri-series Workshops.
NOTE : We will only be accepting 10 students for this training.
We've designed this focussed 10 day workshop to cover a lot of the sections that usually don't get taught in most natural building workshops and courses.
This is a very comprehensive workshop focussed on Wattle and Daub and Cob design intricacies and plastering techniques which can be used for both natural homes and conventional housing.
There will be detailed theory sessions and hands-on work daily focussing on creating art with Mud and Glass. We will create a full showcase wall from start to finish.
You will get to experience 'transformation by mud' :)
The Course will include :
- Learning to Wattle with different materials to create desired shape frameworks.
- Bamboo splitting and weaving.
- Mud mixes for different Daubing applications.
- Clay sculpting and mural work.
- Creating Bottle and Glass Artworks with clay surround.
- Plastering : recipes techniques finishes tools and application.
- Creating and using Clay Paints and Pigments.
- Learning to do basic welding works.
There will also be documentary and movie screenings at night and/or slide shows.
*Accommodation*
Comfortable large bamboo and mud loft aka Adda with dorm-style sleeping. Mattresses Pillows Sheets and Blankets available. If you have your own tent we have space for pitching as well though we can tell you with experience that everyone falls in love with Adda and doesn't want to stay anywhere else :)
Flush toilets with plumbing Indian and Western-style. Shower with hot water facility.
Meals are vegetarian and local cuisine cooked with love. Eggs and fruits available on order.
Note: There are a few private room/cottage options too available at an additional charge. We retain the right to allocate as deemed suitable.
*Contribution*
Rs.12000 for the 10-day training workshop. All funds post expenses will go into the building of the village community and first aid centre.
Plus Rs.700/day/person for dormitory accommodation and all meals.
CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION WILL BE PROVIDED.
