Discover the true meaning of rest and rejuvenation at the Soul Recharge Co workshop, led by Karina Barahona and Jen Garlando. This two-part workshop series invites you to explore the 8 types of rest—ranging from physical and mental to emotional and creative—through a combination of community connection and mindful movement.
Begin with a meaningful community discussion, where you'll connect with others and explore how rest can bring balance to your life. This first session on September 4th will focus on reflecting on Break from Responsibility, Stillness, Safe Space, and Solitude. Following this, immerse yourself in a yin and restorative yoga practice, thoughtfully designed to release tension, quiet the mind, and rejuvenate your spirit. Conclude the experience by gathering as a group to share and discover small, practical ways to integrate rest into your daily life.
The second session on September 11th begins with opportunities to find meditation through an artistic process. The community discussion focuses on reflecting on Time Away, Permission to Not Be Helpful, Connecting to Art & Nature, and Engaging in Something Unproductive. Explore a gentle, slow flow into restorative practices, with opportunities to find meditation through an artistic process. Whether you're seeking clarity, relaxation, or simply a moment to pause, this experience will leave you feeling grounded, refreshed, and inspired to embrace rest in all its forms.
Please note that due to the historic nature of the Jenks Building, there are stairs required to access the salon on the second floor where the workshop will be held.
