A question- reflection- and conversation-based workshop exploring Gaelic culture and its place in contemporary Scotland.
About this Event

What is Gaelic culture?

Is it more than a language?

Is it just a Highland thing?

How is it relevant in the modern world?

What can it tell us about art and creative practice?

As part of our Resource Library workshops programme, you’re warmly invited to join Gaelic speaker, community arts worker and researcher Rhona NicDhùghaill for a question-, reflection- and conversation-based workshop* exploring Gaelic culture and its place in contemporary Scotland, from a pro-diversity standpoint.

Starting with a question amnesty, the session will evolve to respond to what is raised in the room. With space for solo reflection, writing and group discussion, aspects of Gaelic culture and worldview which inform Rhona’s practice will be shared and woven through the workshop.

This workshop will be a friendly and informal space, open to anyone with an interest in Gaelic culture. Lunch will be provided to all participants

Tha fàilte romhaibh uile. / All very welcome.

Please bring your own sketchbook or writing pad if you wish, however paper and pens will also be provided on the day.

*May possibly include some optional singing (the Gaels love singing).
