About this Event
Join the SciFri Book Club for a celebration of our October read, 'What If We Get It Right?: Visions of Climate Futures', as a part of Climate Week NYC. On stage, author Ayana Elizabeth Johnson will speak about how the future of our world and solutions for climate change lie at the nexus of science, policy, culture, and justice. Plus, attendees will get the chance to create their own Climate Action Venn Diagram with the help of Ayana and fellow climate visionaries.
Haven’t read the book yet? No problem! You can join us whether or not you’ve picked up or read the author’s newest book, 'What If We Get It Right?: Visions of Climate Futures'. We’ll talk about topics and themes featured in the book, which can be enjoyed by all attendees, as long as you’re ready and willing to talk about climate change; science in conversation with data, poetry, and art; hope vs. positivity vs. action in the face of crisis; community building and social justice; and lots more.
The SciFri Book Club is produced by Science Friday, an award-winning producer of high quality, fact-checked, and trustworthy science news and educational programming. For more than 30 years, we’ve introduced top scientists to public radio listeners and other communities across the country, and reminded them how much fun it is to learn something new. Catch us on the airwaves every Friday from 2:00-4:00pm ET on your local radio station, or our website, ScienceFriday.com.
