Katja is currently involved in several collaborations between Australian researchers, primary industries, and governmental organisations to improve pollination in protected cropping. Katja is also active in bee conservation and in promoting “citizen” involvement. Katja was instrumental in establishing the “bee hotels” along the Torrens River 6 years ago.
