Join us for a lecture where Geneviève Pruvost explores the idea of what an ecofeminist household might look like. The term “housewife” emerged alongside the rise of capitalism and thereby also ecological degration. What does it mean to carry out domestic work in the age of climate crisis? Why do we need to reinvent the term housewife? And why is the idea of the “universal” problematic for ecofeminism?
The lecture is organized by the research network ‘Histories and Futures of French Travelling Concepts’ in collaboration with CApE. In this séance, the network examines the concept “l’universel” from ecocritical perspectives.
The lecture will be followed by a small reception.
