What do I need to see to support my professional growth?
What is the next step in my personal growth?
What do I need to see to support my clients/colleagues/significant others?
Do these reflexive questions inspire you?
This workshop is designed for professionals eager to explore ways to integrate systemic constellations (orders of love) into their practice. It's not just a theoretical session, but an experiential one that actively supports your personal and professional growth. The professionals include psychotherapists, family therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, counsellors, guidance teachers, social workers, child and youth care workers, support workers, managers, and others.
The prompt will inspire the themes we will explore in the constellations: “What do I need to see (...)?” This explorative question will support us in opening the field and can be applied to our personal and professional development.
During the workshop, we will delve into experiential learning, exploring and practising a more visual and dynamic ‘representation’ of self and relationships. This approach allows us to understand aspects of ourselves and relationships that may not become ‘visible’ when we are only ‘talking about’ relationships. To practice, there will be space for a few constellations. One can opt to present a theme for a constellation or to offer to be a representative or an observer. You can decide how you would like to participate when you are present in the workshop.
This workshop is inspired by:
· The work of Bert Hellinger on systemic constellations,
· Gestalt psychotherapy (for example, externalisation and integration of polarities),
· systemic ideas (including structural family therapy),
· Jim Wilson’s mini-sculpting,
· an attachment and transgenerational framework,
· and a multi-sensory embodied way of working (expressive arts therapeutic modalities)
The aim is to demonstrate how this work can take place both:
· within a group with actual representatives
· and also on a one-to-one basis. Instead of other participants, we use stones or objects available in the room or in our resources box to form the constellation.
Over the past 25 years, I have experienced constellations as a client, therapist, and supervisor. This clinical experience has enriched me with various ideas about how this work can deeply support our practice.
We will explore ideas and ways to apply these skills in our practice with young people, adult clients, and systems like families or multi-disciplinary teams.
In this workshop, we will practise the following:
· How to introduce clients to this work and essential ideas when practising this work,
· and also how to use constellations to understand our own positioning within the system.
The system includes the clients and their contexts, as well as us and the rest of the professional systems. Taking a meta-position with the people we are supporting and within the professional helping team is crucial in supporting good practice.
Looking forward to being explorative with you!
