Join other rangatahi in an effort to remove the Mediterranean Fanworm from the Whangarei Harbour. Learn how to remove an invasive marine pest and contribute to the protection of our native ecosystems. Masks, snorkels, fins and wetsuits provided. Strong snorkelling ability is required. NOTE: A special permit is required and has been obtained from MPI to undertake this removal. This event is funded by Foundation North and SkyCity. The event is targeted specifically at rangatahi under the age of 34, but all are welcome. Prior experience as an EMR volunteer or strong snorkelling abilities are required. This event is a part of our Marine Mahi for Rangatahi pathway. Through this pathway we are looking to identify rangatahi to participate in further exciting marine experiences and one rangatahi (taitamariki) into a work experience and potential SCUBA training through our partnership with Dive! Tutukaka.
