Trainer Bios
Skating Official (SO): Ninja Sass'em is a highly respected roller derby official with a distinguished career spanning over a decade. With more than 500 games under her belt, she has become a cornerstone of the roller derby community. Her expertise and dedication have earned her officiating roles at some of the sport's most prestigious events, including Men’s Roller Derby World Cup, WFTDA Championships, MRDA Championships, JRDA Championships, and even AMRD Championships in Mexico. Ninja's journey in roller derby began as a D2 then D1 skater, later transitioning to an official when she realized her calling was to support and uphold the integrity of the game. Her commitment to fairness, keen eye for detail, and exceptional rule knowledge have made her a trusted figure on the track. Beyond her technical skills, Ninja is known for her ability to mentor and inspire new officials, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie. Her contributions to the sport extend beyond officiating; she has been instrumental in developing training programs and resources for officials worldwide. Ninja's impact on roller derby is immeasurable, and her legacy continues to inspire future generations of officials and athletes alike.
Non-Skating Official (NSO): Tha Doctah is a dedicated and experienced roller derby non-skating official with a passion for the sport and its community. With 14 years and over 400 games under his belt, he has honed his skills and contributed to the success of numerous WFTDA, MRDA, and JRDA events, including MRDA Championships and WFTDA Playoffs. His expertise extends to serving as a tournament Head Non-Skating Official (HNSO) across the Southern region, where he led officiating teams at major tournaments such as the Clover Cup, Sibling Rivalry, and Y'Allstars. His commitment to maintaining the integrity of the game, supporting its growth, and a love to educate others, drives him to continue his involvement in roller derby officiating.
