About this Event
Come and learn about the history of this popular seaside holiday resort from the comfort of the Weymouth Landtrain, in a fun and educational guided tour.
Discover the history of Weymouth's historic Esplanade and Harbour, as we visit the War memorials of WW1 and WW2, and view the historic buildings along the route and the famous Pavillion Theatre. Our journey continues along the historic harbour past the iconic lifting bridge, exploring the origins of the Black Death in July 1348, and how Weymouth was vital in defending our shores from the Spanish Armada in 1588. We also discover the importance of trade and maritime history, and how both Weymouth and Melcombe Regis were granted Royal Charters.
