formed in Birmingham, England, in 1978, during a period of high unemployment and social upheaval in the United Kingdom. Ranking Roger, one of the band's vocalists, added a Jamaican vocal flavour to the band's sound with his toasting style. The "Ranking" moniker is short for "top-ranking" or "high-ranking", and was a titular boast common amongst reggae music MCs. Sadly, the great Ranking Roger passed away in 2019 and now his son Ranking Junior carries the proud mantel for The Beat, who will be performing at WestWorldFest Friday night 2nd May 2025
are our Saturday night 3rd May headliners who first emerged on the scene from Derry in 1976, the result of five friends learning how to play basic rock and roll. They signed with Sire Records and Teenage Kicks was re-released, resulting in the band's first appearance on Top of The Pops. Over the next five years, John O Neill, crafted further pop gems such as Here Comes the Summer, Jimmy Jimmy, You’ve Got My Number (Why Don’t You Use It) and Wednesday Week whilst Damian O’Neill and Michael Bradley contributed My Perfect Cousin
WestWorldFest announces the unbelievable as our Sunday 4th May headliner. The British dance-rock quintet formed in Cinderford, England in October 1989. All five original members were veterans of the local music scene before founding EMF, whose name supposedly stood for “Epsom Mad Funkers". By the end of 1991, their infectious debut single “Unbelievable” had conquered the charts on both sides of the Atlantic, hitting #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #3 in the UK. In April 2022, EMF released their first album of new material in 27 years, Go Go Sapiens.
