The Book Sale will begin on Saturday, Sept. 6th, from 9am to 5pm in the Community Room of the Westport Library and will continue during Library hours the following week. Preview night for Friends of Westport Library members is Friday Sept. 5th, from 6 to 8 pm. Memberships may be purchased at the door, $20/single and $25/family. The sale ends on Saturday, Sept. 13th, with Bag of Books Day, from 9am to 5pm. Fill a bag, provided at the door, for only $5 per bag.
There are 20 well-stocked categories, with particularly large selections in Fiction (all popular authors), History, Biography, Young Adult, Children, Cookbooks, and Home Décor. The prices are great: Children’s books $0.25 each, all others $1.00 to $2.00. There is also a section of specially-priced, choice and rare books, including autographed, sports-related, art and antique offerings.
This sale is the major annual fundraiser of the Friends of the Westport Library (FOWL), and all proceeds are used to benefit the Library, primarily to buy books, passes to local attractions, special programs and other circulation materials.
