About this Event

The Abbey’s magnificent five-manual Harrison & Harrison organ takes centre stage as the Summer Organ Festival returns from 12th July to 9th August 2022.

Hear Vincent Dubois, Thomas Trotter, James O’Donnell, Peter Holder and Matthew Jorysz bring the instrument to life at our Tuesday evening concerts, find out more about the ‘king of instruments’ at our Discovery Events, and enjoy free Sunday afternoon performances from the rising stars of the organ world at our Young Artist Platform recitals.

This third concert in the series is given by Abbey Organist and Master of the Choristers James O’Donnell.

James O’Donnell is Organist and Master of the Choristers of Westminster Abbey. Internationally recognised as a conductor and organ recitalist, he has worked as soloist and director with many of the country’s leading orchestras and ensembles. He has appeared as organ soloist at the BBC Proms and has given recitals all over the world. As the Abbey’s Director of Music and principal conductor of the Abbey Choir he is responsible for directing the music at all the services and great occasions held in the Abbey and for the Abbey Choir’s busy programme of recordings, concerts and tours.
