WestFest 2025, West Grand Rapids’ biggest Spring family festival, has announced their carnival dates for May 16, 17, and 18 at John Ball Park. Sacred Heart Parish is honored to have put on this carnival for 31 years. Just like last year, it’s all about the rides!Father Ron Floyd, Pastor of Sacred Heart, invites all to experience the carnival together and to “enjoy the community’s energy and love of Grand Rapids’ West Side.” You don’t have to live on the West Side to enjoy WestFest…all are welcome!
The Midwest’s finest carnival presented by Skerbeck Entertainment will occupy the green space at the beautiful John Ball Park with great rides, games, and concessions. Single-day ride wristband vouchers sell for $30.00 online until 5pm on Thursday, May 15 and $35.00 if purchased at the Midway during the carnival. Advance wristband vouchers are available for purchase while supplies last in person at the office of Sacred Heart Parish. Wristband vouchers are available online at http://www.skerbeck.com/sales/shop/item.aspx?itemid=13 for a discounted price until the carnival opens.
Our Carnival opens on Friday, May 16 at 12 noon, Saturday, May 17 at 11am, and Sunday, May 18 at 12 noon.
Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish was established in the early 1900’s by Polish miners and their families who settled on the west side of Grand Rapids to be near the once thriving gypsum mines. Now home to West Michigan’s nationally recognized Montessori-12th grade Catholic classical academy and the Diocese’s only Sunday Latin Mass, the parish is thriving and committed to the welfare and success of the entire West Side through outreach, education, and family-building events.
