Welcome to the inaugural event of the Western Sydney Tech Innovators Meetup!
What is this meetup event about?
This launching event is designed to welcome everyone and introduce our community to the exciting world of immersive technologies. We'll explore what immersive tech is, its diverse applications, and how you can start creating your own experiences today.
While this event spotlights immersive tech, our meetup will cover a range of emerging technologies in future sessions, such as AI for creativity, to benefit our wider community. Our goal is to showcase how various innovations can positively impact different sectors and interests.
What will happen?
Join us as we feature two local Western Sydney entrepreneurs who will share their insights and expertise, followed by hands-on demonstrations that will bring these technologies to life. We're also excited to introduce our 'Community Spotlight' segment, where attendees are welcome to present a quick pitch about their own tech-related projects or businesses and receive valuable feedback from the audience.
Whether you're a tech enthusiast, a business owner, or simply curious about the latest tech innovations, there's something here for everyone. This event is your opportunity to connect with like-minded innovators, gain practical knowledge, and be part of shaping the future of technology and innovation in Western Sydney.

Who are the guest speakers?
Lailei Huang - Parramatta's local XR/AI educator & technologist highlighted by Parramatta council [1]. Founder of Immersive Academy - a local not-for-profit and Australia's first XR/AI inclusive education programs provider since 2017 [2]. Lailei is passionate about advocating for and ensuring digital inclusion with emerging tech, i.e., making sure the technology revolution can benefit everyone in our local community. Lailei's work on digital inclusion with AI and XR since 2017 can be found at [3].
Fakhar Jabran - The event will feature a presentation by Engr. Fakhar Jabran [4], a certified metaverse expert and founder of Kashmeta, an award-winning XR startup in edtech [5]. Fakhar’s startup has been recognized with the Prime Minister's National Innovation Award (PMNIA) and is supported by prominent startup accelerators including Perth Landing Pad [6], NSTP - NUST University, and iAccelerate - University of Wollongong.
Community Spotlight - We will welcome and select three community members to pitch and/or share relevant businesses, projects, or ideas related to the event topic.
