Join us in celebrating Western heritage at Western Fest, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6 at the Highlands Ranch Mansion & Historic Park. Formerly called Highlands Ranch Pioneer Days, Western Fest provides opportunities for guests to explore local history through hands-on activities from educational and historical vendors.
For the past couple of years, the Metro District partnered with the Highlands Ranch Community Association to present this event. This year, Metro District has taken it on as its own, reimagining it as a free community event with a new name, some fun additions as well as some traditional favorites.
The event will feature free entertainment, including:
✔️Traditional Native American dancers
✔️ The Legendary Ladies, a group that portrays historical characters
✔️ Line dancing
✔️ Banjo player
Enjoy free activities, including:
✔️ Hayrides
✔️ Self-guided Mansion tours
✔️ Blacksmith demonstrations
✔️ Visits with livestock
✔️ Western-themed games
✔️ Western story times with the Douglas County Libraries
✔️ Vendors focused on history, ranching and agriculture
A food truck and coffee truck will be on site with food and drinks for purchase.
All parking will be off site. Free shuttle buses will begin running at 9:30 a.m. from the north parking lot at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 9203 S. University Blvd., Highlands Ranch.
A limited number of parking spots will be available at the Mansion for vehicles with a handicapped placard or license plate. Individuals using these designated spots must present their handicapped placard or license plate upon arrival.
Giddyup and join us there!
