Itinerary
Thursday, September 12th
Get ready for an exciting start to our adventure! We'll be leaving History Colorado early on Friday, September 12th, and making a few fun stops between Denver and Hotchkiss, where we'll be staying for the night. Lunch is on us from Farm Runners Station before we arrive at Ela’s Family Farm for a personal tour with the Centennial Farm owners. Afterward, we'll check into the cozy Hotchkiss Inn and have some time to unwind before dinner. Our evening meal will be at The Storm Cellar, a charming local winery with stunning views of the North Fork Valley. We'll savor delicious local ingredients and learn about the wonderful people who call this place home.
Friday, September 13th
Kick off your day with a tasty breakfast provided by the Hotchkiss Inn, or take a short stroll to Farm Runners Station for a quick breakfast burrito, pastry, or breakfast taco. Our morning will be spent in the lovely town of Paonia, starting with a fun U-pick activity at Orchard Valley's fruit orchard. For lunch, we’ll head to Sweetgrass Cafe (lunch on your own) where Colorado Farm and Food Alliance will join us to discuss their admirable initiatives for regional food security and local food systems. After lunch, we'll journey to Palisade and check into the charming Wine Country Inn. You'll have some free time to explore—don’t miss the Grande River Vineyard next door! Dinner (included with your ticket) will be at the hotel, where members from La Plaza will join us to share fascinating insights from the laborers who support the fruit and wine industry.
Saturday, September 14th
Start your day with a delicious buffet breakfast at the Inn before we head downtown for an engaging History of Palisade walking tour. After the tour, you'll have plenty of free time to shop at local stores, grab a leisurely lunch, and relax. Our grand finale will be a tour at Peach Street Distillers, where they transform pears, peaches, and other fruits into whiskey, bourbon, and other delightful drinks. In the late afternoon, we'll head back to Denver, stopping in Idaho Springs for a delicious dinner, and return home around 9 pm, full of wonderful memories from our trip.
Sign up soon as we have a limited number of seats and rooms available for this one-of–a-kind experience! Single room requests will be handled on a first come, first serve basis. We will try to assign roommates when requested but can make no guarantees.
