2 Day Western Clinic & ShowEver wanted to try a western discipline? Want to show but don't know where to start? Looking to refine your horsemanship skills? In this 2 day event we will give you a taste of all of the above!
What we will cover in this jam packed weekend…
DAY 1 - Saturday 14th Sep.
8am to 11am (approx.) - Show Workshop
- Types of Western disciplines
- What to expect at shows
- Show rules and etiquette
- Your show training Program
- How to prepare your horse on show day
- Guided practice of western/class manoeuvres
- Class briefing
12:30 to 4pm (approx.) - Western Classes
- Beginner Horsemanship
- Novice Horsemanship
- Beginner Ranch Trail (Obstacles)
- Novice Ranch Trail (Obstacles)
DAY 2 - Sunday 15th Sep.
8am to 10am (approx.) - Show Workshop
- Show rules and etiquette
- Guided practice of western/class manoeuvres
- Class briefing
10am to 3pm (approx.) - Western Classes
- Beginner Reining
- Novice Reining
- Beginner Cutting (Mechanical Cow)
- Novice Cutting (Mechanical Cow)
3pm to 4pm (approx.) - Presentation
Classes will be judged on horsemanship, connection, softness, your choices as a horseman etc not just association rules. Patterns will be given on the day to complete as best as you can. We will have a briefing before the classes begin of what to expect and guidance on how to proceed. There will be guidance throughout the classes and a summary at the end. This will be a fun and relaxed environment for any level of experience.
Class divisions:
Beginner - Complete beginner/New-comer
Novice - Basic understanding of western disciplines
