The next regular Westbourne Woods walk will be on Sunday 14 September, departing the gates of the Royal Canberra Golf Club at 9.30am.The guide will be Duncan MacLennan.
The theme for the walk is: ‘Factors affecting tree growth’.
Duncan has a background in agriculture and horticulture and has diplomas in both subjects. He has been involved in the care and maintenance of trees most of his life including ten years working for the National Capital Authority as their tree manager. Duncan currently assists individuals and organisations meet their bligations under the Urban Forest Act by preparing tree management plans and giving advice on how they can protect and care for the trees on their property.
If you have a tree/s on your property or that you care for this walk is for you.
The walk is usually completed by noon, in time for lunch.

Meet at the gates to Royal Canberra Gold Course in Bentham Street Yarralumla just before 9.30am. The walk takes about 2 hours and is a leisurely stroll through the former CSIRO and Forestry School precincts with a knowledgeable guide.
Please wear sensible shoes/clothes and bring a hat. Walkers are welcome to use the Golf Club's facilities afterwards for refreshments but dress rules apply.
Please note that dogs are not allowed to accompany walkers on the Golf Club grounds. Please remember to respect Golfer's needs to be able to play shots without disturbance.
